The Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) had signed a dual master’s programme cooperation agreement with The University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia.

The dual master’s programme is a collaboration between the IFTM School of Tourism Management and UQ Business School, and aims to enhance the learning development and international exposure of IFTM postgraduate students.

The programme gives eligible IFTM students an opportunity to transfer credits and complete the UQ Master of Tourism, Hotel and Event Management degree and IFTM master’s degree simultaneously within two years.

Students taking the dual programme can get “cutting-edge academic and teaching excellence in tourism, hotel and event management” provided by the two tertiary education institutions.

IFTM has been collaborating with UQ since 2012, with IFTM students having participated in semester exchanges with the university.

The Brisbane-based university is regarded as one of the world’s top universities, ranking 50th in the 2023 QS World University Rankings, and 8th in the world for Hospitality and Tourism Management in the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2022, The Macau Post Daily reported.
