The Macao government has imposed a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all arrivals from Dalian city in Liaoning province, its Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced in a statement early on Sunday.

Under the measure, which took effect at 9 am on Sunday, all those who have been in the north-eastern city within the 14 days prior to their entry into Macao must undergo 14 days of quarantine and medical observation at one of the government’s “quarantine hotels”.

The statement said that the measure was due to “the latest development of the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the city”.

Macao has not recorded a Covid-19 case for 191 days. Macao’s 46 novel coronavirus patients have made a full recovery and been discharged from hospital. According to the Health Bureau (SSM), 44 of the cases were imported, while the remainder were cases “connected to imported cases.”
