The children’s playground in the Guia Recreation Square reopened on Saturday, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has announced.

The bureau said that in order to provide more comfortable and safe leisure venues it has added new facilities. The revamp project for the Guia Recreation Square started last year.

The bureau has installed various climbing-themed recreational facilities, targeting children aged between 5-12. Other than the playground, the project also added a new shaded area, energy saving lights and outdoor water dispensers. The bureau also has planted new flowers to improve the green area of the square.

The bureau urged parents to give safety guidance to their children when taking them to the playground, adding that they should also pay attention to the warning signs next to each piece of apparatus.

The bureau pledged that it will continue to improve facilities in the city’s parks, as well as increase recreation areas around the city, The Macau Post Daily reported.
