Macao’s first smart kitchen waste recycling machine is up and running in Mong Tak Building in Mong Ha.

The Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) said its new “recycle FUN station” aims to provide a more innovative and convenient way of recycling. It offers a 24-hour recycling zone, three colour and glass bottle recycling bins and the smart kitchen waste recycling machine, which can automatically collect, record and weigh kitchen waste.

The bureau said that it has been installing “recycle FUN stations” in different districts of Macao since 2018, and teachers, students, parents, children, the elderly and domestic helpers have reacted positively.

The bureau added that in order to educate the public about the importance of recycling, the stations have become an education base for schools, groups and associations.
