There’s a new reason to visit the Cotai Strip – and it’s poised to become Macao’s go-to spot for camera-ready bites and creative all-day dining.

Enter G Bear Cafe. Opened on 9 June at Londoner Grand a five-star luxury resort within The Londoner Macao – this modern cafe centres around the resort’s stylish ambassador: G Bear. As The Londoner’s No. 1 Ambassador and Chief Experience Officer, G Bear is all about making luxury feel fun, personal and just a little cheeky. Think of him as a smartly dressed host: charming, witty and always up for an adventure.

At the cheery cafe, which embodies G Bear’s warm hospitality and contemporary British style, you can look forward to a small but mighty menu of  G Bear-themed beverages and sweet treats, along with three exclusive special dishes created by award-winning Korean-American acclaimed Chef Edward Lee.

Curious about Cotai’s new must-visit cafe? Here are five things to look forward to on your first visit.

1. Chef Edward Lee brings star power to the special menu

This summer, G Bear Cafe has partnered with Chef Edward Lee, who’s known for shaking up kitchens on Top Chef, Iron Chef America, and Culinary Class Wars. For a limited time, his pop-up menu brings a trio of signature dishes that showcase his multicultural, contemporary cooking style.

Headlining the menu is the chef’s take on kalbi jjim. Sweet and sticky braised short ribs, lacquered in a glossy soy-honey reduction, seem to melt apart at the touch of a fork. They’re served alongside ginseng-infused pommes Anna and a silky purée of parsnip and kimchi juice for a refined blend of Korean traditions and French techniques.

Fans of Culinary Class Wars might spot the inspiration behind another highlight: spicy pan-tossed noodles in a baked tofu basket. A playful homage to Lee’s breakout moment during the show’s infamous “never-ending instant death tofu” round, the dish piles ramen atop an oven-crisp square of tofu glazed with gochujang for a spicy and comforting result.

For dessert, Lee presents a clever illusion: a trio of frozen mousse shaped like tteokbokki. Made with rice cake, white chocolate and Italian meringue, the mousse is paired with melon, fresh minari, dots of green plum extract, and a smoky-sweet gochujang caramel. Delicate in flavour and creamy in texture, it may look like tteokbokki, but it tastes like dessert.

2. Picture-perfect pastries and pours

Indulge in a signature Portuguese egg tart latte with a fluffy raspberry-filled choux – a sweet duo that’s almost too cute to eat

As tempting as Chef Lee’s special menu may be, the pastry cabinet at G Bear Cafe is a showstopper in its own right. Think chocolate-dipped apples, lemon cakes, and airy raspberry choux styled like whimsical bear characters, alongside buttery shortbread and hazelnut praline cookies.

You’ll even find indulgent “Dubai chocolate” squares stamped with the golden G Bear icon. Handcrafted fresh every day, these beauties are inspired by the viral sensation made with crisp kataifi pastry, pistachio cream and tahini.

The crown jewel? The signature Portuguese egg tart affogato: creamy egg tart-flavoured ice cream drenched in steamy espresso, served with a crisp pastry square that nods to the crust of a pastel de nata. To sip, there’s a lineup of cosy cafe favourites: subtly sweet Portuguese egg tart lattes, premium loose-leaf teas, and all the barista classics done just right.

3. Where playful design meets plush surroundings

The interiors at G Bear Cafe strike a balance between regal elegance and cheeky charm. Framed by rich royal blue and gold accents, the space is filled with thoughtful design details that reflect G Bear’s signature style – from patterned backdrops and glowing signage to character-themed cushions and statement artwork.

Whether you’re perched at the bright takeaway counter, lounging beneath a portrait of the cafe’s dapper namesake or relaxing at a bistro table facing the grand Shakespeare’s Hall, every corner is designed to feel both refined and inviting. The seating mixes polished bistro tables with deep leather sofas and plush armchairs, making it easy to pop in for a quick treat or linger over a coffee in style.

4. A stylish stop in the heart of the action

It’s close to shopping, shows and the buzz of the Cotai Strip, making it a comfy and convenient place to pause without straying too far from the fun.

In the evenings, guests can even catch a glimpse of another beloved ambassador at Londoner Grand: the Sparkling Queen. Every night at 5 pm and 8 pm, she glides through the atrium in a sequin-covered gown, serving complimentary refreshments with a side of spectacle that’s easily seen and enjoyed from the comfort of your table.
