New SPU Deputy General Commander appointed today

Lao Wan Seong has been appointed as Deputy General Commander of the Unitary Police Service’s (SPU). Chau Kin Oi has also been promoted from today to Subdirector of the Macao Customs Service (SA).

Lao Wan Seong, currently Second Commander in the Public Security Police Force (CPSP), has been appointed as Deputy General Commander of the Unitary Police Service’s (SPU).

The announcement, made by the Office of the Secretary for Security, said she will start her new functions on May 25.

The office of the Secretary for Security also announced that Chau Kin Oi, Deputy of the General-Director of the Macao Customs Service’s (SA) has been promoted from today to Subdirector of the SA.

Lao will mainly be in charge of the SPU’s Information Analysis Centre (CAI).

She formerly worked in the CPSP’s Operations Planning Department for many years.

At the end of 2016, she served as an advisor to the Office of the Secretary for Security.

In 2017, she returned to the CPSP’s Operations Planning Department as acting director and was promoted to her current position later that year.

Chau served as a police officer in the SA’s Marine Police Inspection Team since 1988, and has served as the SA’s Deputy of the General-Director since 2018.
