The Chief Executive Electoral Management Committee said Tuesday it expected that all ballots in the election of the chief executive on Sunday will be cast in the first two hours so that the result can be released at about midday.

Judge Song Man Lei, who heads the committee and is one of three judges of the Court of Final Appeal (TUI), made the remarks on the sidelines of a regular meeting of the committee at the Public Administration Building in Rua do Campo.

Talking to reporters, Song said that the 400 members of the Chief Executive Election Committee should arrive at Macau Dome in Cotai before 10 a.m. on Sunday since the voting will begin at 10 a.m.

“We expect the whole procedure to be completed within one and half to two hours including the verification of the result …we hope the initial result of the election to be announced at 12 p.m.,” Song said, urging all voters to arrive on time.(macaunews/macaupost)
