Chui to visit Beijing for GBA talks, NPC opening

Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On, will travel on Thursday to Beijing to attend a meeting on Friday of the central government’s leading group for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) said in a statement Monday.

Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On, will travel on Thursday to Beijing to attend a meeting on Friday of the central government’s leading group for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) said in a statement Monday.

According to the statement, Chui will also attend next Tuesday’s opening of the second session of the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC).

While in the national capital, Chui will meet officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

“Chui will also meet officials of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, in order to exchange views on how to press ahead with the goals outlined in the development plan for the Greater Bay Area and how to foster Guangdong-Macau cooperation efforts,” the statement said.

Chui’s entourage will include GCS Director Victor Chan Chi Ping and O Lam, the chief-of-cabinet of his office, according to the statement.
