From Thursday the Chief Executive Chui Sai On heads an official delegation from the Macau government on a tour of cities in the Greater Bay Area Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao.
The delegation will visit the cities of Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Jiangmen, with the aim of strengthening the contact and cooperation between the Macau and the other cities of Greater Bay.
According to the office of the government spokesperson the “Framework Agreement to strengthen Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau cooperation and promotion of the construction of the Greater Bay, will be launched soon.
Chui Sai On and the official delegation will visit the cities of Zhuhai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen on 21 and 22 June, followed by Zhongshan and Jiangmen on 25 June.
Chui Sai On will meet with the leaders of the cities to exchange impressions related to of the Greater Bay Area and will also visit industrial facilities.
In July 2017, the Guangdong Provincial Government, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Regions and the National Development and Reform Commission signed the Framework Agreement for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau cooperation and promotion of the construction of the Greater Bay.
“In order to better integrate Macau into the construction of the Greater Bay and to enable the community and citizens of Macau to benefit from the development of new opportunities, the Macau Government has done extensive work under the Framework Agreement to prepare for the plan to be announced soon.” according to the official statement.
