The Judiciary Police (PJ) said Sunday that they found a15-year-old mainland girl working as a prostitute in Macau.
A PJ spokesperson announced the shocking news at a special conference saying that two mainland men were arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in the case.
The spokesperson said the duo were arrested for suspected human trafficking and organised crime membership, as well as possession of drugs and a prohibited weapon. The spokesperson was also quoted by The Macau Post Daily as saying that the two suspects from Jilin province, born in 1977 and 1988 respectively, were arrested in a hotel room in Cotai after the 15-year-old girl had told police where she was staying.
The girl, also from Jilin, was taken into custody after police officers had intervened in a noisy argument among several suspected prostitutes outside a casino-hotel in Cotai over male clients on Friday night.
When the officers confirmed that the girl was just 15 years old, they asked her where she was staying, the girl led them to a hotel room where the two suspects were found with a 20-year-old suspected prostitute from Guangdong. In the room, police seized a quantity of drugs, namely Ice and Yaba, and a knuckle-duster knife.
The spokesperson said the girl and the 20-year old woman arrived in Macau on Friday, adding that both had frequently visited Macau before.
Both told police that they had regularly come to Macau to work as prostitutes. The 15-year-old confessed that she had served male clients on “four to five occasions” previously, demanding between HK$1,000 and HK$2,000 each time. For each sex service, both had to pay the two suspects HK$200 as a “room fee”, apart from having to surrender half of their income.
The spokesperson said that the gang behind the case was believed to have been active in Macau for at least six months. Police are still looking for two more suspects.(macaunews)
