And the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau clarifies that they will not set up a specific course called national education, but they intend to include this subject into the existing moral and civic curriculum.
This measure is enforced in the next academic year.
Last week, delegates of the Macau National People’s Congress (NPC) suggested the central government to jointly cooperate with Macau’s Education and Youth Affairs Bureau to set up a national education curriculum.
The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture says several student groups have also told him that it’s necessary to have this subject in the SAR.

The Bureau’s Wong Kin Mo stresses that schools in Macau have the decision-making power to choose what subject they want to use for now or for the future.
