Flights between Lisbon and Xi’an, the only air connection between Portugal and mainland China, will resume on 11 June after being suspended for more than six months.

In the wake of Covid-19 outbreak, authorities in the capital of Shaanxi province suspended all flights, including from and to Lisbon, on 25 December 2021.

On 23 January, Xi’an authorities resumed domestic flights but kept all international connections suspended.

The Lisbon-Xi’an route served by Beijing Capital Airlines will now resume with one flight per week, Lusa News Agency reported.
