The first Ahn Luh resort in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) is now up and running on Zhuhai’s Dong’ao Island, offering 153-rooms and 34-villas.
The Ahn Luh Dong’ao Island Zhuhai has been developed by Huafa Group and is being managed by the international lifestyle brand Ahn Luh, which was co-founded by the well-known Indonesian hotelier Adrian Zecha – founder of Aman Resorts.
According to a press release, the Ahn Luh Dong’ao Island Zhuhai “highlights the role of Eastern design within the global luxury travel market, while contributing fresh momentum to the Greater Bay Area’s cultural and tourism sector.”

Located on the eastern coast at Paijiao Bay, the resort is a cliff-top property spanning 42,000 square metres. Dining options include Ahn Luh Brasserie for all-day dining and Luh Chinese Restaurant, which draws inspiration from the 24 Solar Terms of the Chinese almanac and features seasonal island-to-table menus.
Other amenities include a teahouse, spa, ballroom, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness centre and Tai Chi studio. Various cultural and wellness activities are also on offer, from sunrise water rituals to artisanal workshops.
The property’s design incorporates local materials and traditional motifs such as stone, wave patterns and Lingnan weaving. It has already received international recognition from the LIV Hospitality Design Awards (Luxury Resort), the French Novum Design Award for Innovation, and the MUSE Design Awards Gold (US).
