The Judiciary Police (PJ) are investigating after a 24-year-old local woman surnamed Ma “fell” off a high-rise building on Friday – marking the fourth suicide in Macao last month.

Police received a report at 3:13 pm on Friday saying that a woman had been found lying in front of Lisboa Gardens in Rua Cidade de Lisboa on Small Taipa Hill.

When officers arrived at the rooftop, on the 18th floor of the building, where Ma “fell” from, they found a plastic stool, a pair of glasses and a smartphone that had belonged to Ma.

They saw that Ma was lying on the podium below. She had no injuries that could have been caused by foul play, nor were there any signs of a struggle found at the scene.

No suicide note was found at the scene and a post-mortem examination will be performed, The Macau Post Daily reported.
