Weather forecasters issued the strong monsoon signal early today, as Macao started to feel the effects of winds from Tropical Cyclone Noru as it edged westward across the South China Sea.

The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau warned that winds over the city’s bridges are expected to be strong and gusty, and advised drivers to pay attention to traffic safety. Motorcyclists should travel between Macao Peninsula and Taipa Island via motorcycle lane on Sai Van Bridge.

Temperature will range between 26-31degrees Celsius. Relative humidity will range between 65 and 95 per cent.

Noru is not expected to come any closer to Macao, and will gradually make its way to the coast of Vietnam.
