A group of Macao residents gathered Friday outside the kennel of the Municipal Affairs Bureau to urge the government to optimize the procedure for handling stray animals.
According to Macau television under the current procedures, if the caught animals are not reclaimed by their owners within a period, the Municipal Affairs Bureau claims it will look for suitable adopters or end their lives by animal euthanasia.
Some animal rights activists disagree with the handling procedure and held a protest at the Kennel to urge the government to change it.
The group is against animal euthanasia and demands changes to the way kennel staff treat the dogs.
