Macao’s Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) says the typhoon is moving away from Macao and has turned into a tropical storm in South China named “Lupit”.
The weather station hoisted warning signal No.3 at 1 pm Tuesday afternoon and signal No.1 in Macao at 5 am that morning.
The signal is due to be cancelled as the storm moves about 240 km east-southeast of Macao and is expected to travel between eastern Guangdong and the coast of Fujian.
The SMG says it is hot in Macao today, due to the outer northerly airstream of “Lupit”, and there may be thunderstorms or rains later.
