The 2022 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2022 MIECF) will be held from 31 March to 2 April presenting a showcase of green events and activities.
The three-day expo will be held at The Venetian and is themed “Commitment to Green Development, Moving Towards the Dual Carbon Goal”, with exhibitions and forums focusing on topics such as carbon neutrality and green mobility taking their cue from the central government’s 14th Five-Year Plan and carbon emissions peak and carbon neutrality goals.
The event will also integrate online and offline elements to assist international experts, scholars and traders in obtaining information on environmental protection and creating green business opportunities.
The event will be hosted by the Macao government, co-organised by the provincial and regional governments in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, co-ordinated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Environmental Protection Bureau, in conjunction with the support of the National Development and Reform Commission in Beijing.
With a number of online activities, the event will be a platform for exchanges and co-operation between the environmental sectors from the mainland, particularly the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and their international counterparts to promote the central government’s green Belt and Road Initiative, as well as the dual circulation green economy concept.
The event’s offline activities comprise the Green Forum, in which speakers, enterprise representatives and policy makers will share their views about carbon neutrality, and the Green Showcase which will feature alternative fuel vehicles and associated equipment, as well as other green technology.
Various activities such as Green Matching and Green Public Day will enable cooperation and exchanges in environmental protection and publicise its message.
The event will also provide an online business matching service from 20 March to 2 April. Through different online and offline services and on-site industry exchange sessions, the event aims to assist enterprises in business matching and networking, welcoming participation from exhibitors and traders, The Macau Post Daily reported.
