Si Nei Na, deputy convener of the Taipa and Coloane Community Service Consultative Council, said that representatives from the Civil Protection and Operation Centre discussed the results of this year’s ‘Crystal Fish’ drill during the council’s regular meeting on Tuesday, adding that the centre was considering to add a “fallen window incident training” to the drill, in preparation for typhoon season.
Si made the remarks on Tuesday during a post-meeting press briefing at the Islands District Public Services Centre in Seac Pai Van. The meeting was held behind closed doors.
Si said that 2,300 people were involved in the recent drill, including 20 groups and 405 residents. She added that the drill is being held every year in preparation for the typhoon season, as the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has forecast that four to six typhoons will impact Macao this year. Si also said that the drill included 60 different scenarios, including car accidents that could occur on Sai Van Bridge.
Si said that after the training, the representatives from the Civil Protection and Operation Centre said they were planning to add a “fallen window incident” and a Light Rapid Transit (LRT) emergency situation to the drill in the future.
