All advisory signals on Tropical Cyclone Nuri were cancelled at 1 p.m. today, according to Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG).
The Strong Wind Signal No. 3 was cancelled after being in place for almost 20 hours due to the approach of Tropical Cyclone Nuri.
At 1 p.m., Nuri (T2002) was estimated to be about 210 kilometres west of Macau (near 22.0°N, 111.5°E). It is forecast to move west-northwest at around 22km/h.
Weather forecasters say they expect around half a dozen typhoons to pass within 500 kilometres of Macao this year, as the first storm of the summer faded away with minimal impact.
The cyclone took a course well to the south of Macao and was moving away to make landfall in southern Guangdong province.
The rain belts of Nuri are affecting the coast of Guangdong and, for the weather of today, it will be mainly cloudy with a few squally showers and isolated thunderstorm.
Macao weather will remain unstable and showery on Monday and Tuesday.
Between four to seven typhoons will affect Macao this year.
Last year, Macao experienced five typhoons.
