A 60-year-old local woman surnamed Lam – who lived with her family – committed suicide on Monday around 7 pm by hanging herself at her home on Rua de Paris in NAPE, the Judiciary Police (PJ) has said.
According to the PJ, when one of Lam’s family members got home from work that day, they found that Lam had hanged herself with a scarf in her room. Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after and confirmed that Lam had died. Marks were visible on her neck, and the PJ confirmed that the marks matched the scarf that she used to hang herself.
The PJ said that a suicide note was found at the scene and that Lam had had suicidal thoughts due to an undisclosed illness.
A post-mortem examination will be performed, The Macau Post Daily reported.
