The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced the 14th case of coronavirus in Macau on Wednesday morning (18th).
The patient is a 42-year-old woman who accompanied a family member of an Indonesian expatriate. She travelled on March 17 aboard Cathay Pacific CX718 (seat 47F) from Jakarta, arriving in Hong Kong.
She travelled via the HZMB bridge and was found to have fever symptoms at the Macau port. She was immediately sent to Conde S. Januário Hospital for special emergency treatment.
Meanwhile, the husband returned to his home by car after diagnosis and sampling for viral and nucleic acid testing. He did not go out after returning home. After the diagnosis, he was taken to the isolation ward of the Conde S. Januário Hospital for treatment and his current situation is normal.
The Health Bureau has informed the Municipal Affairs Bureau to clean and disinfect the patients’ residence. The bureau is currently looking for other people who have been in contact with the woman. More details will be released later.
Since Sunday (15th), Macau has had four new COVID-19 cases after having had no new cases for about 40 consecutive days.
