Only two new Covid-19 cases were registered in Macao in the past day, both of which were found under management and control in medical observation hotels. That brings Macao’s total cases to 1,821 as of midnight last night, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced. 

No new cases have been found in the community since 25 July.

As of 8 am today, 22,979 individuals are under follow up, which include 3,544 close contacts, 12,399 people with overlapping itineraries, 1,365 secondary contacts, 254 general contacts and 789 accompanying persons. A total of 1,218 people have so far been released from medical observation.

In addition, a total of 214,549 samples have been collected from the mandatory nucleic acid testing (NAT) for the Key Groups, Key Areas and people who are working away from home in the last 24 hours, with all negative results, according to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre. 

As of 8 am this morning, a cumulative total of 1,055,931 samples have been collected since 24 July.
