Macao registered only 12 new cases in the past day – just one found in the community – bringing the city’s total number of Covid-19 cases to 1,795 as of midnight last night.
Eleven of the new cases were found in Red Code Zones and medical observation hotels, which were detected under management and control, while one case was found in the Citywide and Key Groups NATs, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced.
The number of people currently under follow up, as of 8 am today, is 22,353 – among them are 3,510 close contacts, 12,083 individuals with overlapping itineraries, 1,321 secondary contacts, 256 general contacts and 780 accompanying persons.
Since the 12th round of citywide nucleic acid testing (NAT) began at 8 am yesterday until 8 am today, a total of 440,028 samples have been collected and 413,521 of them have come out negative, with only one batch of pooled samples testing positive so far. After a re-test, only one among the 10 individuals in the same batch tested positive.
During the 12th Citywide NAT, which will continue until 7 pm tonight, five rapid antigen test (RAT) kits are distributed to each person. Those who have yet to take the test can make an appointment via this link.
Before going to testing centres, everyone must undergo a self-administered RAT and upload the result onto the Macao Health Code. Only people whose results are negative are allowed to enter the testing centres. Those with positive RAT results must call 119, 120 or 2857 2222 for an ambulance service.
When the mass NAT results are out, they will now be shown on the Macao Health Code.
