Motorists in Areia Preta, on the northern part of the Macao peninsula, have been asked to be patient over the summer months, with multiple roadworks expected to cause congestion.
According to Transport Bureau officials cited by public broadcaster TDM, the work is in connection with the completion of the Macau Bridge as well as the finishing of a major temporary housing project in the district.
The bridge requires the laying of connecting roads and new pipelines, the bureau says.

The advisory comes as construction nears completion on eight residential towers in the area, incorporating a total of 2,000 apartments intended as temporary housing for people affected by urban renewal projects.
The new housing development requires the construction of two four-lane roads, according to a government statement issued earlier this week.
The works have been scheduled for July and August, because traffic is generally lighter during those months, officials said. Some works are also due to take place at night.
