The Macao One mobile application reached a total of 560,000 users as of 1 January, according to a local media report that quoted the civil service’s performance czar, Chan Sok Cheng.

Speaking during a ceremony that saw the awarding of the Medal of Professional Merit to the interdepartmental group responsible for the app, she noted that the user base had grown from the initial total of 70,000, during the app’s pilot phase in 2020, to “basically all residents.”

According to Chan, the government’s Macao One app currently features over 330 services, allowing users to make online appointments with 30 different departments.

She also said that the government intends to launch a new app later this month to enable businesses and associations to access government-related services online.

In addition to the business app, a separate app for civil servants is due for release, which will help streamline processes in the public sector.
The government plans to expand its digital offerings in 2024 in a push towards e-governance outlined in the Chief Executive’s 2024 policy address.
