The government has published point-based criteria for its recruitment program to attract overseas talent in the arts and sports.
There are six categories under which candidates are assessed, including age, education, language skills, family background, work experience and personal achievements.
In order to be eligible for the program, applicants are required to possess a degree in the social sciences, humanities, arts, law, architecture, sports and related disciplines. Candidates who hold a PhD will have a 10-point advantage over those who have a bachelor’s degree.
At least four years of work experience or six years of tertiary education experience are also necessary. Candidates must also be 21 years or above, have good Chinese, Portuguese or English skills and score at least 200 out of the permissible 300 points.
