Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) is offering paid family vaccine leave and special vaccine leave to employees to encourage children and the elderly to get vaccinated against Covid-19 after Melco, MGM and Wynn launched a similar programme.
Galaxy has promised paid leave to employees who need to accompany their children under the age of 18 or parents aged 70 or above to get jabbed at any of the Health Bureau’s vaccination points between next Monday and 30 June.
Employees can have a day off on the day of their family member’s vaccination. If employees get an additional jab during the same time period, they can also enjoy a day off on the same day as the vaccination, or on the following day. GEG noted that 95 per cent of its staff have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.
Melco Resorts made the announcement last week that up to three days of special paid leave would be granted for colleagues to support their children under 18 years old and elderly parents who need to be accompanied to get vaccinated.
Wynn Macau made a similar announcement on Tuesday, offering up to three days of additional leave to enable staff to accompany their children or senior family members when they get inoculated and to care for them afterwards between next Monday and 30 June. Wynn noted that its special family vaccine leave will be available to all staff whose children or elderly parents are getting their first, second or third dose of the Covid-19 shot in Macao.
Staff who have completed their vaccination doses can enjoy up to two days of special leave, while those who are getting their booster dose are also entitled to have a special day of leave. Wynn noted that 95 per cent of its employees are vaccinated against Covid-19.
MGM China Holdings also said on Tuesday that staff can apply for up to three days of additional holiday when accompanying underage children or senior parents for their jabs.
