The price of rapid antigen test (RAT) kits in Macao varies wildly, from MOP 8 to 39, a survey by the consumer council (CC) has found.
The survey covered 60 pharmacies across the city and was published on the Macao Price Information Platform mobile app and website.
According to the report released on the Macao Price Information Platform, the prices for different brands of the rapid antigen test kits at the 60 pharmacies ranged from MOP 8 to 39.
The Livzon brand from Zhuhai was the cheapest at MOP 8 while Banitore from Hong Kong cost MOP 39.
The CC urged consumers to only buy RAT kits approved by the Pharmaceutical Supervision and Administration Bureau from reputable pharmacies, adding that consumers should check whether the packaging is complete, as well as verify their validity and details on the packaging when they buy the kits.
