The average of price of pre-sale residential units increased 48 percent quarter-to-quarter to 185,886 patacas per square metre in the second quarter, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced Monday.

The average price of pre-sale residential units in the Macau peninsula and Taipa increased 52 percent and 38 percent respectively.

The average price of all residential units rose 25 percent quarter-to-quarter to 111,542 patacas per square metre of usable area.

The average price of existing residential units increased nine percent quarter-to-quarter to 86,969 patacas per square metre. While the average price of those in the peninsula and Taipa increased eight percent and 12 percent respectively, the price of those in Coloane fell 13 percent.

In the second quarter, 4,158 buildings units and parking spaces were sold at 28.97 billion patacas, up by eight percent and 29 percent respectively.

A total of 1,096 small residential flats with a floor area of less than 50 square metres were sold in April-June period. Their average price leapt 60 percent quarter-to-quarter to 128,046 patacas per square metre.
