Gross revenue from Macau casinos registered a year-on-year positive growth in July, up 12 consecutive months of monthly growth, to 22.96 million patacas (US$ 2870 million), according to official data from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
The July growth rate of 29.2 percent was the highest since a reversal of 26 consecutive months of declining revenues in August 2016, with a slight increase of 1.1 percent for 18.83 million patacas.
From January to July, gross revenue from games of chance amounted to 149.34 billion patacas (US$ 18.667 million), a figure that represents an increase of 18.9 percent over the amount recorded in the same period of 2016.
At the end of the first half of 2017, there were 39 casinos operating in Macau.
