Executive Council members have completed their discussion of the government’s 2021 budget amendment bill which proposes raising current expenditure by another MOP 2.3 billion.
The proposed increase means that this year’s budget would reach MOP 105.8 billion.
The amendment bill will now be presented as an urgent matter to the Legislative Assembly for debate and vote.
According to the council, the budget’s second increase in expenditure this year is needed to cover the government’s financial support measures for citizens and small- and medium-sized enterprises during the Covid-19 pandemic, The Macau Post Daily reported.
