SJM Golden Jubilee won the Macau Standard Dragon Boat Race (500 metres) Open Category, while the Association of Macao Youth Development won the women’s category, during the 2022 Macao International Dragon Boat Races at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre.
The Sports Bureau noted that SJM Golden Jubilee won the championship at 1 minute 58 seconds, while Wynn and MGM took second and third places respectively. In the women’s category, the Association of Macao Youth Development won at 2 minutes 11 seconds, with SJM Golden Lotus in second place and Wynn in third.
Macao’s Chief Executive Ho Iat-Seng joined spectators at the races, performed the eye-dotting ceremony and presided over the prize presentations and closing ceremony. The annual event’s prize-giving ceremony was also attended by Liaison Office Director Zheng Xincong, Foreign Ministry Commissioner Liu Xianfa, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Elsie Ao Ieong U, and Sports Bureau President Pun Weng Kun.
The dragon boat races were co-hosted by the Sports Bureau and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, in conjunction with the Municipal Affairs Bureau and Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, The Macau Post Daily reported.
