As many as 30 Olympic gold medallists from the mainland may visit Macao next month, Sports Bureau President Pun Weng Kun has said.
According to Pun, the bureau has been discussing the possibility of the visit with the General Administration of Sport of China (GAS). Pun added that GAS has been “supportive” throughout the discussion.
Pun pointed out that he was looking forward to “as many as 30” of the national sports team’s gold medallists and athletes visiting Macao. He said that after meeting the gold medallists local residents could be expected to be more aware of sports news.
