To commemorate the National Day and the Moon Festival, a new show Swan will take place on 30 September and 1 October at 8 pm at the Venetian Theatre. The show fuses elements from the classic ballet Swan Lake with exhilarating Chinese acrobatics – think of ballet dancers performing on the shoulders of other cast members – and tickets will be available from 10 am on 4 September.
Devised by the award-winning Guangzhou Acrobatic Arts Theatre, Swan is an inspiring tale of the acrobat Yu Meng, who dedicates herself to training for success on stage. The show promises to immerse the audience in a visual spectacle that walks a line between fantasy and reality.
Directed by renowned choreographer Zhao Ming, in collaboration with artistic director Wu Zhengdan, Swan has already received accolades, including selection for the National Arts Creative Fund Program and the Outstanding Production Award.
