The number of real-estate deals and property prices dropped in June, according to stamp duty statistics released by the Finance Service Bureau (DSF) yesterday.

A total of 609 units were sold in June, a 17.8 percent drop from the 741 units sold in the previous month. Some 77.5 percent of all units sold in June were located in the peninsula. A total of 109 units were sold in Taipa, while 28 units were sold in Coloane.

The average price per square metre amounted to 97,406 patacas, down 7.5 percent from the previous month when the average price stood at 105,260 patacas.

However, the price was up 29.1 percent year-on-year. In June last year, the average price per square metre was 75,448 patacas.

The average usable area of the units sold in June stood at 72 square kilometres. In May, the average usable area amounted to 64 square metres.

April recorded the highest square-metre price of any month so far this year, at 131,589 patacas.
