Macau Short Film Festival to present 132 films next month

Superb selection chosen from more than 4,000 shorts offered to festival organisers; audiences can vote for their favourites and help pick the film of the year.

Around 130 short films will be screened at the 12th edition of the Macau International Short Film Festival, which will be presented at the Capitol Theatre 2-9 December.

The Festival’s official selection features 132 short films and six music videos.

Audiences can vote for their favourite in fiction, documentary and animation film and can also select the best film of 2021.

The organisers received more than 4,000 entries for the official selection, from some 40 countries, including Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, South Korea, Croatia, Egypt, Spain, United States, France, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Russia, Switzerland and Turkey.

Macao and Taiwan will also present short films at the festival.

Organised by Creative Macau – Center For Creative Industries and the Macau Institute of European Studies, the festival will present 14 awards.
