Civil servants who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 must display a valid Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) result prior to entering their respective workplaces starting 27 September, the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) has announced.

Due to guidelines laid out by the Health Bureau (SSM), the SAFP decided to compel public servants to either display a Covid-19 vaccination record or display a NAT test result that was taken within seven days. Those unable to show either the inoculation record or the NAT result face disciplinary proceedings for “unexcused absence from work.”

The bureau said that the NAT must be taken during non-office hours, adding that those who can show a valid doctor’s note warning them against having a Covid-19 vaccination can have their cost of the NAT test reimbursed.

The bureau pointed out that in order to effectively lower the risk of a Covid-19 outbreak in Macao, civil servants should comply with the government’s novel coronavirus prevention and control guidelines. All civil servants have been urged to get inoculated, reported The Macau Post Daily.
