No new Covid-19 community cases for nine consecutive days

Outlook positive for Macao as more than a month of mass-testing and partial lockdown appears to have stamped out Covid-19.

Health workers have reported positive news in the continuing battle against the Omicron variant: no positive cases were detected in the community for nine consecutive days, and none were found as a result of epidemiological investigations.

The Novel Coronavirus Infection Response and Coordination Centre stated that there were no new positive cases in Macao within 24 hours yesterday. There were zero cases in hotels for centralised isolation for medical observation, close contacts, nucleic acid tests in key areas and key groups, or in other groups. There have been no positive cases detected in the community for nine consecutive days in Macao, and a total of 1,821 cases have been maintained since 18 June.

In addition, as of 8 am today, in terms of epidemiological investigations, follow-up visits, close contacts, non close contacts meaning people with overlapping itineraries , secondary close contacts, general contacts, and accompanying persons, maintained the same number as at 8 am on 29 July.
