The 72-hour negative nucleic acid test (NAT) result requirement for all travellers crossing the Macao-Zhuhai border has been extended through 7 January, The Zhuhai-Macao Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism has announced.

The current cross-border NAT measure was put in place at midnight on 19 December and was to last until midnight on 31 December, replacing the previous measure of 24-hour NAT validity, which had been in place since 16 November and had been extended several times for one week at a time. Prior to this, the NAT measure for cross-border travellers required a 72-hour NAT validity.

According to the authorities, other Covid-19 cross-border prevention and control measures remain unchanged and the current cross-border NAT measure will continue to be adjusted accordingly.
