The sixth round of Macao’s rapid antigen test (RAT) kit purchase scheme will start this Friday.

As in previous rounds, the programme will run for 14 days, between Friday and 16 February. Each local resident, non-resident worker and non-local student enrolled in Macao’s higher education institutions will be entitled to buy 10 RAT kits at the fixed price of MOP 40 (MOP 4 per kit) at designated outlets.

These include 55 designated pharmacies, five venues run by the Macao Women’s General Association, five venues run by the Macao General Union of Neighbourhood Associations, and five venues run by the Macao Federation of Trade Unions.

Defective RAT kits purchased through the programme can be changed for new ones at public health centres.

The government rolled out the programme in early December, enabling people to buy RAT kits used for Covid-19 self-tests cheaply, The Macau Post Daily reported.
