Macao’s tourism arrivals have fallen for a third consecutive month, according to figures released by the Statistics and Census Service.
The bureau says visitor arrivals amounted to 2,209,662 in June, down from the 2,213,807 in May and the 2,274,050 arrivals recorded in April.
Same day visitors plummeted by more than 7 percent month-to-month, from 1,124,977 in May to 1,045,878 in June. Their average duration of stay, at 0.2 days, remained unchanged.

Overnight visitors increased by 6 percent compared to the previous month, comprising 1,163,784 of all arrivals.
Their average length of stay, at 2.2 days, has remained unchanged since February, however, suggesting that Macao is struggling to come up with compelling reasons to keep tourists in the territory.
Visitors from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong made up 2,089,560 of the total number, meaning that 120,102 foreign passport holders, or less than 5.5 percent of the total, visited during the month, in spite of well publicised government efforts to lure more international travellers.
