The local tour programme, “Stay, Dine and See Macao”, which had been suspended due to the recent Covid-19 outbreak in mid-June, restarted yesterday.
The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said that from 6 August until last Sunday, 1,158 people had signed up for local tours and 3,848 hotel packages were sold, involving 10,832 hotel overnight guests.
This year’s programme will last until the end of this month.
The first day’s itineraries for the local tours included visits to tourist attractions in Coloane, such as Nossa Senhora Village of Ka Ho and Coloane Fishing Village, which is one of the Macao New Eight Scenic Spots.
When itineraries include meals in restaurants, the MGTO has arranged to separate participants into small groups to have their meals, while for those itineraries that do not include meals, a MOP-100 dining card will be distributed by the tourist guides.
In line with the Health Bureau’s Covid-19 prevention guidelines, participants must wear a facemask, undergo a temperature check, show a valid green Macao Health Code and scan the venue QR code. Anyone holding a yellow or red Macao Health Code is not allowed to join the tours.
The MGTO is currently studying the feasibility of extending the programme’s hotel staycation experiences and local tours, as well as its “Educational Student Tours”, The Macau Post Daily reported.
