Two more patients have been reconfirmed with COVID-19 today, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced.
One is a 19-year-old male Macau resident who had been studying in the United States. He arrived in Macau on March 21, was diagnosed on March 22 and discharged on April 17.
The other reconfirmed COVID-19 case is an 18-year-old male Macau resident studying in the United Kingdom who returned to Macau via the airport on March 22, was diagnosed on March 25 and discharged also on April 17.
On April 27, the health authorities announce the first reconfirmed case.
The three reconfirmed – two today and the third last Monday – remained at the Centro Clínico de Saúde Pública for further observation.
2 more patients discharged
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced today that two more confirmed novel coronavirus patients have been discharged and transferred to Centro Clínico de Saúde Pública for a further 14-day recovery isolation period.
Macau’s 36th discharged patient is the 50-year-old local female resident who arrived in Macau on March 21 and was diagnosed that same day.
Macau’s 37th discharged patient is the 20-year-old male Macau resident who was studying in the UK and is the son of the 40th COVID-19 case. He was diagnosed on March 22.
The two patients were in stable condition prior to release from isolation and have met the discharge criteria.
Macau’s last discharged cases were on April 30.
Macau’s first novel coronavirus case was registered on January 22. Nearly all of Macau’s novel coronavirus cases have been imported, with the second wave beginning March 15.
There have only been 45 confirmed novel coronavirus cases in Macau, with 37 patients already discharged and no deaths.
Eight patients are still hospitalised – 4 are in the isolation ward of Conde S. Januário Hospital and 4 are in the isolation ward of Centro Clínico de Saúde Pública.
Macau has had no new imported COVID-19 cases for 23 consecutive days since April 8.
11th mask distribution
Meanwhile, it has also been announced today that the 11th mask distribution will start on May 2.
The Macau government guarantees adequate supply of masks. They have called on the public’s cooperation not to rush within the first two days to avoid crowds gathering and long waiting lines.
There will be a total of 84 distribution points, the same as those in the 10th round. Children’s masks will also be available.
Batches of 10 adult-sized masks, as well as batches of five adult-sized masks and five child-size masks will be available to all residents and non-resident workers.
