The Guangdong government’s quarantine lifting for arrivals from Macao is only applicable to Macao residents and mainland visitors, while non-resident workers from the mainland are still subject to the current quarantine rules.
In response to the possible rising number of visitors to Macao following Guangdong lifting the quarantine, new guidelines on COVID-19 prevention and control measures have been set up for the city’s retail outlets and restaurants – all staff members must wear a facemask while working.
Macao’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP 189.6 billion (US$23.75 billion) at the end of June, the Monetary Authority of Macao said in a statement on Wednesday.
A representative from the Concern Group for the Protection of the Guia Lighthouse, Chan Tak Seng, urged the Cultural Affair Bureau (IC) on Wednesday to complete the government’s preparations for the “Protection and Management Plan of the Historic Centre of Macao”.
