The FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) has updated the calendar of races for the 2020 season on its website and it does not include Macao.

According to the revised calendar (available on www.fiawtcr.com), the 2020 season will have only six events in Europe, and Salzburgring will stage the inaugural WTCR Race of Austria as the opening event of the season in September.

This will be followed by races in Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Spain and Italy.

Race events were originally scheduled to take place in Ningbo in September, South Korea in October, Macao in November and Malaysia in December this year.

Local broadcaster TDM’s Chinese-language radio channel Ou Mun Tin Toi yesterday quoted the Macao Sports Bureau as saying there would be changes in the Macau Grand Prix (MGP) this year and details would be announced in due course.

This year’s Macau Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from November 19 to 22.
