The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong, which is simultaneously accredited in Macau, said in a brief announcement received by the Macau Post Daily on Wednesday that contrary to news reports claiming that Thailand’s visa-free arrangements for certain countries and regions had been cancelled, it would like to inform the public that the visa exemptions for the holders of passports of the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau “will not be affected” and “remain the same.”

Meanwhile, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said in a statement received by the Macau Post Daily on Wednesday that travellers from the “disease infected zones” of South Korea, Italy, Iran and China (including Hong Kong and Macau) are required to present “two important forms” upon arrival in Thailand.

According to the statement, travellers from those countries and regions need to “present a health certificate clarifying ‘no risk of COVID-19’ prior to boarding pass issuance. In addition, travellers must complete the [so-called] T8 form and submit it to the communicable disease control officials at the control post at the airport of disembarkation.”

The statement noted that the medical certificate and T8 form can be downloaded from the TAT website https://tatnews.org
