About 5,000 secondary school teachers will need to take the nucleic acid test in preparation for school resumption, announced the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) at the daily press conference today. These will take place between April 27 and 30, with the Health Bureau (SSM) to notify the relevant teachers.
DSEJ Deputy Director Kong Chi Meng said that 10 local schools have already complied with measures in preparation for the first stage of school resumption beginning May 4, as previously announced by DSEJ Director Lou Pak Sang. These preparation measures that will be placed include temperature checks for everyone entering school facilities.
“Authorities will fully inspect their steps to ensure that the epidemic prevention work is adequate,” says Kong.
As for the arrangement of cross-border faculty, staff and students, coordination has been made with hospitals in Zhuhai, and testing will be done at a designated time. They will need to present residence permits and their nucleic acid test results before they are allowed to travel between Zhuhai and Macau.
In the meantime, the DSEJ will continue to tour schools in Macau in preparing for class resumption.
