The Judiciary Police (PJ) are investigating three suspected suicides, which occurred on Good Friday and Saturday, including a 12-year-old girl who “fell” from her bedroom window.

Judiciary Police said that the 12-year-old girl, surnamed Chan, “fell” from her bedroom window in her family’s flat onto the building’s podium on the third floor in Areia Preta district on Saturday night.

The police said that a resident on the third floor of the building heard a thud at around 9:30 pm on Saturday, and found the girl lying on the podium. The resident informed a doorman who alerted the police.

The girl was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead after emergency treatment to save her life had failed.

The PJ said that after a preliminary investigation, PJ officers believe that the girl “fell” from her bedroom window. No suicide note was found in the flat, however, the case wast classified as a suspected suicide.

The case occurred in Block 1 of Nam Ou Garden, which is located on the corner of Avenida do Nordeste and Estrada Marginal da Areia Preta.

In the second case, a 61-year-old man surnamed Leong “fell” from his home in Fai Chi Kei at around midday on Saturday after going hiking with his family.

The police said that after the hike, the man’s family members went shopping, while he returned home alone. When the family members returned to the building in Rua Sul do Patane, a doorman told them that someone had “fallen” from the building.

When the family members went to their flat, they found a suicide note on a desk, and later they found Leong lying on the building’s podium on the third floor.

Leong was rushed to Kiang Wu Hospital where he was pronounced dead after emergency treatment to save his life had failed.

The case occurred in Block C of the Van Sion Son Chun residential estate in Rua Sul do Patane, and was classified as a suspected suicide.

In the third case, a 45-year-old man surnamed Kuong was found dead in his home in Areia Preta district on Friday where burnt charcoal was found in a joss-paper burner. The man was a tenant of the flat.

Police said that a real-estate agent went to the flat in Rua Central da Areia Preta to collect the rent at around 5 pm on Friday, but found that the front door of the flat was not closed. When the agent knocked on the door, no one answered.

The agent informed a doorman of the building, and both went into the flat to investigate. They found the man lying on his bed in the bedroom, and saw a joss-paper burner with charcoal ashes next to the bed on the floor.  Police said a suicide note was found in the bedroom.

The case occurred in a flat on the 45th floor in Block 3 of the La Cite residential estate in Rua Central da Areia Preta, and was classified as a suspected suicide.

Autopsies will be carried out to confirm the exact causes of the three people’s death, The Macau Post Daily reported.
