The results of the nucleic acid tests may be included in the electronic health declaration to speed up border crossings, announced today at the daily press conference by Alvis Lo Iek Long, a clinical director of the public Conde de S. Januário Hospital Centre’s Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng said on Monday that Macau was already studying the creation of such a health code.

“We will extend the functionality of the health declaration. So we can have more concrete information, with different colours for each situation. This will allow people to use this code when entering or leaving Macau,” said Lo.

“Soon, more details about the measure will be announced,” he added.

This new system is being designed for those who cross the Zhuhai border frequently, such as students and teachers that live in the neighbouring Chinese municipality.
